Tristate Adventuring Guild began in 2023 when several LARPing friends gathered together in a small brewery/theater in Pittsburgh, PA. Their goal? To create a fun experience for all LARPers. They strove to craft a fantasy world where everyone can enjoy themselves; from fighters to crafters, from able-bodied to disabled. They also wanted a democratic organization, where multiple members would be elected to represent the player base.

Thus Tristate Adventuring Guild, and their LARP Odyssey, was created. Run by five elected board members and heavily involved with their player base, TAG aims to be as transparent as possible so that everyone has input.

Each board member is in charge of a different aspect of TAG and works together with a committee.

Plot revolves around creating the world of Arkrath, assisting player’s with their character’s backstories, and the evolution of the Aether and elemental magic. They also maintain the Wiki and the world’s map. Currently run by Sean.
Rules ensures that in-game and out-of-game regulations are adequately explained and detailed. Assisting player’s in creating their character’s skill sets, they also oversee the crafting recipes and monster manuals. Currently run by Eugene.
Operations deals with the day to day functions of TAG. They work on things such as securing locations and renting facilities. They also are in charge of the NPCs and the physical representations of the weapons used by all players. Currently run by Adam.
Marketing is in charge of the social media accounts of TAG. They also plan events, make announcements, and network with other LARPs. They also help with the designing of logos, ingredient cards, the rulebook, etc… Currently run by Gena.
Business is as mysterious and alluring as it sounds. Dealing with the bylaws and paperwork of running a LARP, they assist in ensuring that TAG is financially responsible. Currently run by Mel.

The “tristate” in TAG revolves around Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. Many of our events happen near the PA/OH border. Players hail all over the tristate area and as far as the Philadelphia area! Our mascot, the Trimera, is crafted with those three states in mind being 1/3rd bear, 1/3rd deer, and 1/3rd ruffed grouse.
