To get to the camps, make sure you turn down Cabin Road. On the right will be the Ranger’s station. You’ll continue to drive down Cabin Road when you’ll see a sign directing you towards Group Camp 2 and Group Camp 3.
For Camp 3, follow along Cabin Road and when you see this sign, stay left. It’s a bit of a rocky road but it’s a lovely view of some Pennsylvanian wilderness. Camp 3 will be a grouping of buildings consisting of a mess hall (Our Tavern), cabins, and bathrooms!
For Camp 2, follow the sign directing you to go right. The road becomes Nichol Road. Follow along, enjoy the beautiful Pennsylvanian wilderness, and keep an eye out for a road on the left. There will be a smattering of buildings consisting of the mess hall (Our Tavern), cabins, and bathrooms. You’ve arrived!
What to Expect
Raccoon Creek State Park is a rustic camping experience. While they have cabins, there is no central heating or air conditioning. Additionally, they provide wooden bed bunks but no bedding. The bathrooms/showers are typical for rustic camping. The mess hall has refrigeration as well as a freezer if you need to store food. They also have a very nice kitchen (the kitchen is considered Out of Game) in which you can plug in appliances (coffee maker, microwave, airfryer, etc…) and use the stove/sinks. PLEASE NOTE!! If you use the kitchen, you *must* clean up after use so that we will be welcomed back. Also the kitchen does NOT have a microwave.
TAG will provide paper towels, soap, toilet paper, garbage bags, and water. Some players like to make big warm meals that you can purchase with In Game or real world currency while others provide some freebies such as a cup of coffee or a granola bar. There are not many food options around the area. You can always ask your fellow players in our Discord server about the food situation for the weekend.
We recommend that you bring the following:
-mat/foam/sleeping mattress (some people bring air beds or cots)
-bedding such as pillow/blanket/sheet
-bug spray/citronella
-snacks (granola bars, trail mix, cookies, etc…) and drinks (water, energy drink, etc…)
-a fan (for summer) or heavy blankets (for fall)
-extension cord (cabins typically have 2 outlets)
-extra socks/clothing
-a bag for your dirty clothes (you’ll thank me when you’re driving home)
-toiletries such as deodorant, etc…
And certainly don’t forget your costume!
Depending on the weather, we also recommend that you dress accordingly. Despite mostly being in the woods, it can still get VERY hot during the summer months. Keep your costumes nice and light! If you are NPCing, it will be easier to stay cool as you’ll mostly be wearing black and jeans.
As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate asking in the Discord or on our Facebook page. See you soon!
